Above Ground Tank - Vertical
Product Description:

Equally at home either as a WRAS-approved potable water tank or as a waste receiver, if you need additional liquid storage then these Above Ground (Vertical) Storage Tanks are the ideal solution for a wide range of applications. They come in wall thicknesses to take liquids up to a specific gravity of 1 (water) and 1.5 (slurry).

With capacities from 2,500 litres to 30,000 litres and the ability to link tanks together, you can easily create exactly the storage volumes you require. Applications will include emergency back-up drinking water supply through to temporary water supply at festivals and/or the storage of toilet effluent until it can be disposed of at the treatment works.

Warnings

Fresh water has a specific gravity (SG) close to 1. This means that 1 litre of water will effectively weigh 1 KG. Our potable and non-potable tanks are therefore rated at SG1
Toilet waste contains faecal matter and toilet paper/tissue, which increase the specific gravity of the liquid. Waste from toilet cisterns (4-6 litre flush) will have a lower SG than waste from recirculating systems, which use less water. This waste is variously known as black water / sewage / toilet sewage / slurry etc.
Tanks for slurry are termed as "industrial" and are 150% of the weight of standard non-potable and potable water tanks (see weight chart above). If you are handling / managing toilet waste, we recommend you opt for our "Slurry" tanks - same volume, thicker walls and increased weight
Industrial / slurry tanks are made with increased wall thickness catering for specific gravities of contents up to 1.5
Any tank with heat-welded flanges / fittings will require a slurry/industrial tank
Consider bunded tanks to avoid spillages
Delivery on a 44 foot articulated lorry
It is the customer’s responsibilty to offload
A HIAB truck may be required
Delivery is kerbside only - the delivery driver is not indemnified to install the product
Only lift or move when empty
PLEASE CONSULT OUR LITERATURE ON CORRECT INSTALLATION OF TANKS: PAY PARTICULAR ATTENTION TO THE BASE REQUIRED TO SUPPORT THE TANK WHEN FULL - WE RECOMMEND A CONCRETE BASE
Tank base should be a minimum of (600mm) (24") larger than the diameter of the tank and should have a minimum depth of:
102mm (4") for tanks up to 2,500 litres
152mm (6") for tanks 4,000 litres to 10,000 litres
204mm (8") for tanks over 10,000 litres
